A manhunt is underway for child rapist Cliff Lyons Dobbie after he escaped prison staff.
Dobbie was admitted to the State Hospital in Carstairs, held there since the attacks for which he was convicted.
Secure facilities like Carstairs house individuals who have committed serious offenses but are deemed mentally ill and in need of treatment.
He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, white trainers, light blue ripped jeans, a salmon-coloured golf shirt, a light blue jumper, and a puffer jacket, carrying a black backpack.
Dobbie, reportedly speaking with a strong Glaswegian accent, actively maintains links to Glasgow and the surrounding area.
He is also understood to have used the names Clifford Lyons and Dobbie.
In 2011, Dobbie won a judicial review against a ban on junk food at Carstairs, claiming he needed high-energy drinks and protein bars for his fitness regime.
Police have warned the public not to approach Dobbie; report any sightings directly to them.
Police Scotland urges anyone with information on his whereabouts, particularly his links to Glasgow, to contact police immediately.
