Convicted Assailant Escapes North Manchester Hospital, Police Warn Public

A convicted assailant, Marwan Jumaa, 20, escaped from North Manchester Hospital on Tuesday evening, prompting an urgent public safety warning from Greater Manchester Police.
Jumaa, serving an indefinite secure hospital sentence for attacking two women, received treatment at a secure hospital unit within the Greater Manchester area.
He previously resided in Belmarsh prison, a facility housing individuals with severe convictions, before his transfer for medical care.
Following his disappearance, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) immediately launched a comprehensive manhunt, appealing to the public for any information regarding his whereabouts.
Authorities describe Jumaa as black, approximately 5ft 10in, with a thin build and short, dark hair.
Police issued a stern warning, advising the public not to approach Jumaa under any circumstances; call 999 immediately if he is sighted.
He was last seen in the Radcliffe area of Greater Manchester on Tuesday evening, triggering an intensified search in that specific vicinity.
Detective Superintendent Amber Waywell of Greater Manchester Police stated, 'We have no information to suggest any intention to inflict imminent harm, but ultimately, he is a wanted and dangerous individual.'
He is a danger to females.
Waywell also confirmed, 'He is a danger to females,' and added, 'He is a danger to the public.'
She explained, 'The warning is because the offences he is serving the custody sentence for are against females.'
Investigators believe Jumaa maintains links to several key locations, including Bury, Prestwich, and Crumpsall within Greater Manchester, as well as further afield in Leeds and London.
