Teenager Faces 22 Sexual Offence Charges, Case Moves to Crown Court

A 15-year-old boy appeared in Wellingborough Youth Court, facing 22 sexual offence charges, including rape, against eight girls aged between 10 and 15.
The next hearing is scheduled for August 18; further proceedings will unfold then.
The defendant received bail under strict conditions, prohibiting contact with the alleged victims and unsupervised interaction with any female under the age of 16.
During the 20-minute hearing, the boy confirmed his name, date of birth, and address; he also requested an explanation of the Youth Justice Service.
He was not required to enter any pleas at this initial stage of the proceedings.
The alleged incidents span a two-year period, from 2023 through 2025.
Prosecutors allege the charges include 12 counts of sexually assaulting a female and three counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching.
Further allegations detail one count of raping a girl under 13 and one count of assaulting a female aged 13 and over by penetration with a part of the body or thing.
The teenager also faces one count of raping a girl aged 13-15 and two counts of creating an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child.
Additionally, a charge of possessing a prohibited image of a child and a further charge of possessing extreme pornographic images stand.
