Simon Levy Convicted of Double Murder
Registered sex offender found guilty of suffocating Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo and Sheryl Wilkins, as police investigate potential for scores of additional victims.

Simon Levy, 40, has been found guilty of murdering Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo and Sheryl Wilkins.
Sheryl Wilkins's body was found in a car park near Levy's home; Levy reportedly smothered her, leaving her body just minutes from his residence. The body of Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo was discovered in a stairwell of a disused block of flats in Southwark, south-east London.
Levy was arrested on September 5, 2025, after facial recognition camera identified him. An Old Bailey jury reached their verdicts after deliberating for 13 hours, confirming Levy's use of aliases such as Levi and Shamus.
Detectives now believe Levy may have claimed scores of victims, reportedly carrying out daily attacks for years. Police also believe many other women have not yet come forward, as Levy reportedly targeted vulnerable women in secluded areas of London.
National Police Chiefs Council indicated that The Government’s sentencing reforms, which aim to jail fewer offenders by ditching shorter prison sentences and releasing inmates earlier, will lead to a six per cent surge in crime.
The Met Police has referred itself to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC); two police officers are currently under investigation by the police watchdog. The investigation is looking into why Metropolitan Police, British Transport Police, and the courts allowed Levy to remain free despite previous convictions.
