Holly Willoughby has launched a new lifestyle series, "Holly Willoughby Together," on her YouTube channel, premiering its first episode on July 28.
Willoughby's husband, Dan Baldwin's company, Hungry Bear, produces the new series; tech health provider Voy sponsors the program. This initiative presents celebrity guests, cooking tutorials, interviews, fashion advice, and wellness tips.
Stanley Tucci and Katherine Ryan appear as confirmed guests for the inaugural series. One interview features Ellen Froome, a mother advocating for Jools' Law, which mandates social media companies to save a child's online data within five days of their death.
Willoughby stated she chose not to feature her own children on the new show, citing the 'dark side of fame.' The series focuses on lifestyle, fashion, healthy living, and real stories, with themes including Talk Together, Cook Together, Look Good Together, Better Together, and Tech Together.
I had to unlearn all the telly stuff and be a bit more normal for the YouTube channel.
This launch follows a period of significant change in Willoughby's television career. She departed from ITV's 'This Morning' in October 2023 after 14 years.
Her exit from 'This Morning' occurred months after Philip Schofield left the program in May 2023 due to a scandal. In 2024, Gavin Plumb received a life sentence for a plot to kidnap, rape, and murder Holly Willoughby.
Willoughby previously hosted 'Dancing On Ice' and 'This Morning' on ITV; 'Dancing On Ice' will not return for another series. She described her new venture as 'all new territory for me,' stating she 'had to unlearn all the telly stuff' and 'be a bit more normal' for the YouTube channel.
Willoughby claimed she 'didn’t feel any pressure' returning to presenting after three years, comparing it to 'stepping into an old pair of slippers that I used to wear.' She stated she observed how she and her three children consumed media, inspiring her pivot towards YouTube.
The move to digital platforms reflects a broader industry trend. Established television personalities now leverage online channels to connect directly with audiences.
Historically, television presenters relied almost exclusively on major broadcasters for their platforms; that model evolved dramatically with the rise of digital media. The current media landscape sees a significant migration of viewership to platforms like YouTube, where content creators cultivate dedicated communities without the constraints of linear broadcasting schedules.
For stakeholders, this move offers Willoughby a direct connection to her fanbase, enhancing her brand autonomy and commercial ventures. Economic pressure on traditional broadcasters to retain top talent has intensified, as digital platforms offer competitive alternatives for content creators.
Willoughby expressed excitement for the project, stating she doesn’t feel any pressure, believing 'what will be will be.' She claimed the shift from TV to YouTube was 'weirdly not as different as you would think,' describing it as 'just a shift' after 14 years of established working methods.
I love telly, and I'm sure I'll be back on other TV shows when the time feels right. But for now, this is a bit of a challenge, and I want to see where this goes.
Willoughby noted that half the team worked in digital and half in classic entertainment, with everybody blending their ways of working. She stated she loves telly and hopes to return to other TV shows when the time feels right, seeing the new channel as an opportunity to 'see where this goes' and a 'bit of a challenge.'
