This fee eclipses the previous record of £116 million, which Manchester City paid Nottingham Forest for Elliot Anderson.

Chelsea presented Rogers with a clear path to becoming a left-wing starter; the player joins under the impression he will play alongside Cole Palmer.

Historically, Rogers scored 21 goals in 85 league appearances for Aston Villa and 31 times in 125 total appearances for the club.

His consistent performance helped Aston Villa achieve three consecutive top-six finishes, culminating in their Europa League title this season.
Rogers also became a key figure in Thomas Tuchel's England squad, appearing in all but one of their seven World Cup matches.
He delivered an assist for Anthony Gordon's opening goal during Wednesday's semi-final defeat to Argentina.
Meanwhile, Arsenal had also pursued Rogers; Mikel Arteta discussed his name in internal meetings.
Chelsea moved swiftly to secure the player's signature, outmanoeuvring their London rivals.
This marks the second instance Arsenal saw a primary transfer target opt for a rival club, following Manchester City's acquisition of Jeremy Monga.
